William Sii Hong Lau
Graduate, 3rd Year
Will joined the Carrow group in October 2017, and his current research focuses on ligand design and development for cross-coupling reactions. He grew up in Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia, before attending the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign to pursue his undergraduate degree in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering. He worked in the lab of Prof. Damien Guironnet at Illinois developing non-linear bottlebrush polymer, and also spent two summers working in the lab of Prof. Robert H. Grubbs at Caltech.
Anthony Scavuzzo
Graduate, 4th Year
Tony Scavuzzo joined the Carrow group in 2017 after receiving his BS in Chemistry from Clemson University. At Clemson, he worked under Professor Joseph Thrasher on the copolymers of tetrafluoroethylene. He is currently studying the catalyzed copolymerizations of ethylene with polar monomers as well as electrochemically driven palladium catalysis.
